Consider Biking

Consider Biking is committed to making Central Ohio increasingly safe, accessible, and friendly to bicycle transportation. The work we do is at the heart of urban environmentalism – raising awareness about oil dependency, pollution, congestion, safe streets, good urban design, and public health. We are partnering with local stakeholders to improve our streets, bridges, and trails in order to make riding to work, shopping, and exercising by bicycle safe and fun for everyone in the Columbus metropolitan area.

Central Ohio Greenways

The Central Ohio Greenways – an extensive series of trails that wind through picnic areas, boating and fishing facilities; and family-friendly parks. The trails create a unique experience by joining the natural wonders of our scenic rivers with the diverse neighborhoods and attractions of the city. Whether you are a biking enthusiast or an avid nature lover who prefers to walk in the park, the trails are divided into sections that will appeal to your personal taste. One of the key benefits of the trails is their convenient location near many day-to-day destinations such as shopping and recreation centers. If you're going, why not take the trail and "go green"? So pack a lunch, grab the dog or strap on rollerblades and head to the path that is sure to inspire you with the natural beauty that is central Ohio.

American Diabetes Association “Tour de Cure”

The Tour de Cure is a series of fundraising cycling events held in 44 states nationwide to benefit the American Diabetes Association.

The Tour is a ride, not a race, with routes designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist. Whether you ride 10 miles or 100 miles, you will travel a route supported from start to finish with rest stops, food to fuel the journey and fans to cheer you on!

Columbus Outdoor Pursuits

Columbus Outdoor Pursuits is a volunteer-based, participatory organization created to provide opportunities and education for outdoor recreation and activities and thereby aid in acquisition of a greater knowledge and appreciation of the out-of-doors and to develop self-reliant, community minded citizens.

Founded in 1937 to promote greater understanding of the world and its people by providing low-cost recreational and educational travel, today we continue our devotion to noncompetitive outdoor recreation and world travel.

Ohio Bicycle Federation

The Ohio Bicycle Federation (OBF) is the only state-wide advocacy organization representing Ohio's bicyclists.

The OBF is an alliance of individuals and groups interested in promoting the use of bicycles for recreation, transportation and other appropriate purposes.

It serves by providing opportunities for the betterment of bicycle education, engineering, legislation, the encouragement of activities involving the use of bicycles and by serving as a forum for the exchange of information and ideas.

Columbus bike trails are growing and linking up across the city. The Olentangy and Scioto Bikeways have been a recreational fixture in Columbus, Ohio for many years. But recent times have seen the blossoming of a parallel bikeway route to the east along the Alum Creek.
